Ansbach & Petersaurach – A Walk Through Time

Nestled in the heart of Bavaria, Ansbach carries its Baroque legacy with quiet pride. Once the seat of the Margraves of Brandenburg-Ansbach, its architecture still echoes centuries of princely elegance and resilience. Petersaurach, smaller and more rural, is steeped in Franconian roots — a village where timber-framed houses and narrow streets hold onto the calm of simpler times.

These are not just cities, but quiet stories waiting between corners. Through my lens, Ansbach’s Baroque calm and Petersaurach’s rural simplicity reveal themselves not in landmarks, but in glances, shadows, and fleeting moments.

Dinant — Where the River Meets the Cliffs

A small Belgian gem nestled along the Meuse River and watched over by steep limestone cliffs, Dinant carries centuries of quiet charm. Once famed for its intricate brasswork — “dinanderie” — the town still reflects its medieval spirit in stone and water. The Collegiate Church of Notre-Dame and the hilltop Citadel stand as timeless sentinels, while echoes of music linger — this is the birthplace of Adolphe Sax, the man who gave the world the saxophone.

Frankfurt Opera Square

The history of opera in Frankfurt
c.1700 a French operatic troupe came to Frankfurt and performed works, mainly by Jean-Baptiste Lully. Other tours took place later, including a visit in 1745 by Pietro Mingotti’s Italian troupe, which included a Kapellmeister called Christoph Willibald Gluck. Performances took place in temporary venues in dining halls of larger inns or on wooden stages they brought with them which were set up outside, usually in the Rossmarkt (horse market square).

Opernplatz, nestled in the heart of Frankfurt, offers a rich canvas for street photography — where timeless architecture meets fast-paced city life. Framed by the historic Alte Oper and surrounded by modern high-rises and luxury boutiques, the square becomes a crossroads of contrasts: business professionals, tourists, street musicians, and quiet moments all co-exist within the frame. This gallery captures the rhythm of everyday life — the elegant, the candid, and the fleeting — in one of Frankfurt’s most iconic urban settings.

Leipziger Str

The central shopping street in the Bockenheim district, Frankfurt. It's all in the mix: Even though a few wholesale branches have set up shop along Leipziger Straße, it's the many small, diverse shops, cafés, and restaurants that create the charm of this shopping street. Here a designer jewelry store, there a wine shop, a barber, or a long-established bookstore – the best thing to do is just go with the flow. The many courtyards are particularly pleasant, where you can enjoy a quiet coffee or visit a gallery.

Each photograph tells a unique story—capturing fleeting glances, spontaneous interactions, and the intricate dance of light and shadow across the cityscape. This collection dives into the pulse of the streets, offering a candid glimpse into the beauty, chaos, and quiet reflections that define the heart of any city.
