Prime vs. Zoom Lenses – Which One to Choose?!

I won’t bore you with technical differences—you already know that.

But at the end of the day:

📌 For ultimate sharpness & creativity → Prime (e.g., 50mm f/1.8)

📌 For flexibility & convenience → Zoom (e.g., 24-70mm f/2.8)

Now, here’s what really matters—finding your shooting style?

  1. Use a zoom lens exclusively for a while in street, portrait, and landscape photography.

  2. Review your best shots—spot the focal lengths you naturally prefer.

    !! That’s your sweet spot !!

You might surprisingly notice, the below irony:

Street: 35-45mm | Landscape: 20-24mm | Portrait: 50-80mm

Once you know this, I would recommend , investing in a prime lens in that range (aperture 1.4 - 2.8) will be worth every shot!

My picks? Street – 40mm (oh dear ! its a pancake lens) | Landscape – 24mm | Portrait – 85mm | Birds – I would still stick to zoom lens 100-400mm (Not all in my kit, but based on experience!)

Try it, find your style, and shoot with confidence! 📸
